I usually plant the tulips in pots and over winter them in the greenhouse. This year these are the tulips I chose. By growing them in pots I can position them round the house where I can see them.. also no danger of the mice eating them, provided I cover the tops of the pots. I learnt that the hard way!

All these pictures of tulips from all over the place make me want to try them! They are just too expensive, and do not get enough chill here to bloom again.

They are beautiful at a time when there is not that much colour around. I treat them as annuals as they don’t do too well for the next year. A few pots don’t cost too much.
